It’s the only place a natural world wonder happens annually as millions of migrating wildebeest, antelopes, and zebras cross the Serengeti River over the Acacia plains. It unites two countries Kenya and Tanzania.
World Heritage Site
Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife: over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopard, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size. The Serengeti is a land raw and wild, yet comfortable and sophisticated.
Great Migration
The great migration is the world’s second longest overland migration. The complete migration route is around 800 km (500 mi). South of this migration route covers the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where around half a million wildebeest are born between January and March. By March, at the beginning of the dry season, roughly 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras start to migrate north towards Maasai Mara in Kenya.
